Life just keeps getting better around here.

The potential redevelopment of MARTA-owned land around the Avondale station could jump-start the revitalization of East Decatur — a former warehouse district that could one day look like trendy Westside Atlanta.

MARTA is negotiating an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Decatur’s development authority to remake a roughly 6-acre site south of the Avondale station. It’s a prime piece of real estate at East College Avenue and Sams Street that today is an underused parking lot.
